OK, How many of you cant wait for the 1LE to come out? It's going to be a great car.

The 1LE will likely outperform any car in its price range. The GT350 will be similar in performance, but for 10k more. Outside of American cars, you would need to look at twice the money to get a comparable car.

Motor Trend is going to drop the article in Late September that will show us.
Rumor has it that the time is right between the c7 z51 and the gen 5 z/28 which means it's super fast. A tiny bit faster than a gt350 TP and a tiny bit slower than a gt350R. |

As the owner of a 911 GT3 (997.1 generation), it pains me to say that I think the new 1LE will turn quicker lap times on a road course than my car. Car and Driver's Lightning Lap had virtually identical lap times for my GT3 vs a 2013 1LE at VIR. Granted, these tests were done years apart so the conditions may have been different, etc., but I think you can still draw the conclusion that these cars turn pretty similar lap times.
The new 1LE is no doubt faster than the prior one, so it should lap faster than my GT3. Having said that, the GT3 feels just as good on the 20th lap as its 1st lap. No overheating, the brakes still work great, etc. You can't say that about many cars these days. The GT3 is also a quicker autocross car due to its smaller size and weight. Terrible daily driver though. |
