Tow hook legality
I have a solid tow hook like the one pictured below.
I haven't installed it yet because I'm concerned that it will not pass inspection in Massachusetts due to protruding beyond the bumper. Has anyone here had any experience with this? And by the way, 2010 Camaro SS has no threaded receiver for a screw-in tow hook. There are products out there to bolt receivers to the bottom edge of the crash bar. I would appreciate hearing about any first hand experience with those. The way they're attached, it looks like the crash bar might twist and distort during a tow. Whereas the solid hook bolt to the aft surface of the crash bar across its entire height. I want a tow hook not for looks but in case my car breaks at the drag strip. I feel like it's just a matter of time before I have a breakdown on the strip. Without a tow hook, I would just get pushed out of the way and damage would result. Thanks for any insights! |
