need new headlights

as the title says, my headlights are jacked and I need new ones. I think the housing itself went bad but by no means do I know for sure. either way. I was thinking of changing the front end to the ZL1 6th gen style and getting the 6th gen lights as well. will this work without issue even though I have the RS package? I heard there were issues with some aftermarket lights when you had the hid set

I see you have a 2010, they do have 6th gen style headlights for the 2010-2013 models (i have them with no issue), but they are designed for the Non-RS plugs. You may have to use the Non-RS to RS plug from Gen5DIY for the 6th gen style style to properly plug in. That plug controls the actual headlight and the light bar is spliced into the turn signal wires.

Only downside is I believe the available 6th Gen ZL1 bumper is “only” designed for the 2014-2015 models. I also believe the head lights on the 2014-2015 are shaped a little different so if you were to put the 6th Gen ZL1 bumper with the 2010-2013 6th Gen style head lights there is a little gap as the head light doesn’t cover the whole opening which is ugly. You would have to switch to the 2014-2015 head lights (which also a 6th gen style comes in) but the plugs again are different. That would require a 2014-2015 head light plug to a 2010-2013 Non-RS plug which Gen5DIY could probably make.

I only bring that up as I have seen it on a FaceBook group. Hope it wasn’t too confusing or I can clarify some things. Me personally I went with the 5th gen ZL1 bumper and 6th gen style lights and had no issues.

Thanks for that info bro, very informative. I was also looking at the gen 5 ZL1 bumper but I like the sleeker look of the headlights on the 6th gen honestly. Got some thinking to do!

The ballast and bulbs I was sent do not seem to be compatible either. They were cheapies anyways.
