Part number?
Can anyone tell me the part number for the hose that you cut to install a catch can is?
I tried looking it up but I have no idea what it's even called. Thanks.

You just need some 3/8" hose from Autozone. That's all that these kits use.

I would like the part number too. Just in case a dealer gives me crap about my catch can, I can remove it and put the stock hose back in if I need service.

I'll be trading in my car soon so I wanted to put everything back to stock.

bumping an old thread because I'm wondering if the o-ring that supposedly goes with the tube is necessary to replace? This o ring:12616909
Everyone wants 12 bucks to ship the thing and I'm not going to bother if the old one is fine which it should be after only a few years. |

I have a more basic (dumb) question: What is the catch can supposed to do? How tough is it to install?

It captures oil in the PCV system and prevents it from getting into the intake manifold, which in turn keeps it from coking up the valves. I've yet to install one in mine but from everything I've read about it they aren't hard to install.

Simple to install and a good idea on DI engines. It really is amazing how much mine catches between oil changes. To think of all of that being burned through the top part of the motor gives me shivers.
Very happy I decided to install mine with under 3k on the car. If Im not mistaking... the Gen6 comes with one stock now. Hm. Wonder why...
