5th gen 1LE or 6th for $36,500
I know this has been discussed at length. But I am really torn. I have been planning to get a 14-15 1LE until I went to the dealer and looked at a new 2019 1LE 6 speed manual, recaros, dual mode exhuast, and PDR for $36,500.
Pros: warranty, newer technology, great reviews, looks are pretty good Cons: cost more than I want to spend, smaller backseat (children are in the future), consumables are costly (tires are awesome but last less than 10k miles, 10 quart oil changes, etc.) The 2014-15 is a great car but really for lower miles you are looking at 23-27. Anyone else in the same predicament? I doubt I will ever go to a track. I have a c5 z06 that I won't be selling and have never even tracked that in the 5 years I have owned it. I drive 40-50k a year at the moment but it won't see all these miles. Should I bite the bullet on the new one or stick to the 5th gen? I love the 1LE so really am not considering a regular SS. |

I don't see much point in getting a 1LE if you don't plan to track it.
A SS will have a better ride. A 6th gen SS will handle about as well as a 5th gen 1LE, weighs less and has more power. Just my .02 I LOVE my 2015 1LE.

$36,500 is a deal on that 19 1LE. A low mileage 14/15 1LE will cost $25,000 or a little more. I'd do the 19 unless you have a personal preference of 5th gen. I've owned both a 5th gen 1LE and 6th gen. Maintenance items on both will cost about the same on either car.

I don't track my 1LE, but I do love the look of it much better than a regular SS. On the other hand, the ride is stiff, and the 6th Gen SS will smoke me. |

Both the SS and 1LE ride smooth for a higher performance car. I also opted for the 1LE knowing I wouldn't track it because it's unique and an awesome package.

Shameless plug, but I'm looking to sell my '15 1LE as of today. PM me if you want details. Honestly has been a great DD the last 4 years.

I love the 1le package, I daily mine and hope to go tracking at some point. I love the stiffer ride.
If I went with a 6th gen it'd be a 1le no doubt about it.

I went from a 5th Gen 1LE (2015), to a 6th Gen 1LE (2019).
There’s a massive difference between the two. Everything from the chassis, to the infotainment center, to the performance. For the price you’ve been quoted, $36,500 for a 2019 with the options you’ve listed, that’s a fantastic deal. If your budget allows it, get the 2019.
