Magnetic Ride Problem

Well....I took the car out and it seems like I have absolutely no shocks on the car. Bounces around a good bit and if I hit too much of a crown or dip.....it almost feel like it wants to bottom out. So I look down and neither of the lights for the ride control are on. I'm kind of thinking that the Suspension Control Module has taken a crap on me. Thoughts? I have no DTC's for it or anything. I'm curious as to if the dealership will still honor the suspension part of my warranty. Car is a '13 and has 17k on it....but I've pretty much modded most other aspect of the drivetrain....but haven't touched the suspension yet.... Any chance there are some service writers in here that could shine some light on that? I'm not exactly thrilled about taking my car into the dealer for anything...

I would think that you would have a code or light for something like that. Can you at least have it put on a computer to see if there is a code?

Maybe the system lost power somehow.

I've tried to look at it with my HPTuners, My Sisters Scanner from her work, My buddy's Snap-on Scanner and when all those failed I put my brothers Tech2 on it but his hasn't been updated in quite sometime.

Mine did the same thing and you will be limited to like 85 mph or something near there...Dealer had to reflash the ECM for the Mag Ride...all was and still good after this.

Yeap....definitely limited....prevented me from hitting the track Friday...lol. I tried to do a reflash....but didn't help. And I'm a little worried about doing a "write entire" in the pcm. Been hearing it's not such a great thing to do.... Looks like I'm dealer bound...

Yeap.....the SCM's in the trunk on the passenger side.... I was kind of figuring that was the issue. Figure it's just out being that I'm not getting any code or message on the dash...

That's a good ways out from me....Being that I'm sure they'd need the car for a while....I'd be stuck there waiting on it...and I'm thinking they'll probably need it over night. I am curious to his thoughts on whether the dealers will jack with me on the suspension warranty if I've modded the motor or not though...

You should be okay. PM him and start a conversation. A good dealer is worth the drive. A dealer replaced an axle seal for me under warranty on my C6 even though I supercharged it. I talked to them beforehand and was upfront about the car.

No worries with David. He will take care of you. If your mods didn't affect Mag ride then you are good to go. My car is modded and loud as hell and I just had an airbag sensor replaced there with no issues.

Depending on how far and what direction. I may be able to help with a ride if you have to leave it.
