Question DIY Shift Point Tuning Safe?

Hi all. I have a 2015 Camaro 2LS V6 auto, and while I enjoy using the tap shift feature, it is known that the 2LS for 5th gen doesn't have true tap shift like the higher trims. I've seen on the forums the ability to improve tap shift responsiveness and shift points using HP Tuners.

Of course I know that using a tool like HP tuners can and most likely will void the warranty, but I am wondering how safe is it for me to use it myself instead of going to a tuner? As I said, I just want to modify the transmission shift points. I don't even want to change the shift firmness, torque management, or engine parameters.

Thanks!
