Hardware store. Bring in the FOB. 1/16 X 5/16, IIRC.

I signed a paper saying I didn't want it done so mine are still all original but still get phone calls and letters telling me about the recall. I lost count on how many times I've told folks that if my knee could hit the key while driving, I would be a contortionist.

The skip shift feature is far more dangerous and should be recalled.

The purpose of the recall is not just for people accidently hitting the fob
with there knee and shutting off the ignition but when they hit it with there knee in an accident and the ignition is off the air bags will not deploy therefore GM is trying to cover there own ass`s in a possible law suit about the failure of the air bags to deploy in an accident.

I understand the concern, but for me at 5'8" I would need to be lifted 12 inches off the seat to hit the key. I have informed my dealer and OnStar that they can stop reminding me.

Has anyone EVER in a Camaro reported this in an accident, and not a Cobalt? And my son had a Cruze that was NOT recalled with exactly the same key.

My daily driver has the fob, house key, and truck key. My camaro just has the fob and the key. I do not have a gazillion things hanging off the key chain on anything that I own.

Having a ton of crap dangling on the key ring cannot be good for the switch. And I bet this is what is causing people to have trouble with turning their vehicles off while driving.

I could never understand why people like to hang a ton of crap off their key rings. They act they're in training to be the custodian of the local high school campus or something.

For me, having the key with the fob doesn't bother me. Whenever I think about making the change to convert it back to the switchblade, I forget about it and go on using the separate key and fob with no problems.

I hate it when I take my Equinox to the dealer for service and they immediately put a ring thru the keyless fob so they can attach their junk to it. When I get the 'Nox back, one of the first things I do is take that @#$%^*(# ring off the fob! Fobs are meant to be clean.

And no---my Camaro doesn't go to the dealer for anything. It's out of warranty and no reason to darken their service bay with its shadow.

Lol, nothing unsafe about skip shift. I’ve driven literally hundreds of cars with the 1 to 4 gate and have never come remotely close to anything that could be considered even a drivability issue.

My dealer refused to service my car unless I had the key recalled. After a new service manager 6 months later I needed a new key and they gave me a key fob and cut the key also.

That's not usual. You just need to sign a waiver that they explained the recall to you and you neglected to have it done.

I bought my Camaro used and it only came with one fob. I ordered two more at my dealer, using my VIN#, for $50 apiece. When they're ordered with the VIN#, they come pre-cut and since they can be self programmed without a scan tool, that was the cheapest way to get extra fobs. When the recall came out, I asked my service manager if he would do my recall if I only brought him one fob. He said: "sure". I figured that I'd let him ruin one to get two extra keys and stop all the recall harassing from GM. About a week later, I walked through the service department and he pitched me a package and said: "Your recall is done." I opened the package and it had the two recall keys in it. Now I still have three functioning switchblade fobs, two functioning recall keys AND my car is marked off of GMs recall list. Having a customer friendly dealership makes like so much easier.
