Question about playing music thru iPhone
So I got a 2SS a couple days ago and I've been trying to figure out how to play music via the USB port, but it doesn't seem to work. I go into the iPod app on the iPhone and plug it in through USB. I can then view all the music menus and songs from the iPhone from the Camaro, but I can't play anything. The only way I can do this is going to the iPod app and starting the music from there, then plugging in the USB port and then it will play.
Any ideas? Thanks. |

On the dash, you press the menu/select button (the dial that looks like the volume button) then you will be in the menu to select the genre/artist/playlist, etc

I've never even tried using my iphone through the usb port. I connect through bluetooth to play my music and it works perfectly. If you want to charge it at the same time just plug a car charger into it as it's playing. I keep hearing stories about how the usb doesn't work with iphone 4 so I won't even bother until they get a fix for it.

Works fine with my iPhone 4, there are many ways to accomplish the same feat, just which ever you wish

Mine works sometimes and other times it acts like nothing is plugged in. Each time I solved this problem by restarting my phone so it seems to me it might be a phone issue. I also use the Bluetooth option but the sound quality is much better through the USB!

Something is still not working right...I added the phone as an iPod device and have selected it in the menu. I can access it and read all of the songs on the device but when I click on the song to play it, it never plays and the song length counter is always 00:00 even when there is a song playing that I manually started from the iPhone. Possibly an issue with the iPhone software version? I noticed also that the device spontaneously disappears and I get a message that says something like "can't get any usable data from device". If I get an aux cable, will I be able to access my songs from the Camaro menu system?
