Well, I reconnected the battery, tightened all battery connections (the positive terminal under the hood was a wee bit loose)....and Voila!! She started right up.......the weirdest thing.

Not weird at all, the loose connection allowed some current to pass but it takes a lot more current to turn that starter then the connection allowed enough through. To much resistance (The loose connection) = Not enough current, = draw down in voltage...I.E. the look of everything going dead when you turned the key.
