I think this is the case also I have never seen a rear independent suspension misalignment cause both tires to wear down evenly to the cords, most of the time one side will wear more than the other or the inside edges or outside edges will wear out.
Like I said align it and replace the tires and keep a close watch on them. As bad as those are I can't imagine not noticing something wrong before they got that bad.

No way, that much tire wear in less than 6000 miles? There is no way that it didn't have some type of drivability issue. If the alignment was that far off, you'd be going down the highway at a pretty good angle. If it were something loose or damaged in the suspension, it would've vibrated your teeth right out of your head.

I had horrible uneven weird wear patterns on my stock Pirellis. Couldn't believe it.

Just drove them until they were done and got Michelin PSS's though, didn't bother talking to the dealer.

I too was going through rear tires very fast. I solved the problem by NOT stomping on the pedal with my lead foot so much at stop lights.

As said earlier.. the alignment could be and should be GM's responsibility. The alignment is usually covered for 1yr or 12K miles, whichever comes first. But those tires. Dood! You are definitely on the hook for that. Get yourself some quality Michelin Pilot SuperSports.

alignments are covered up to 7500 miles.
If I dialed the alignment OUT as far as possible, it wouldn't make the tire look like that. THAT tire had the smoke let out of it.

Give it up, your not getting someone else to pay for the damage.

So, wise one, please explain the physics to us ignorant hicks.
How can a car that drives "fine" have rear alignment out so far that the tires have circumferential excessive wear?

Yeah no I'd love to hear what the problem was. You say it has no handling or drivability issues yet your tires are GONE. Something isn't adding up here at all. If it was an alignment issue or a problem with the car being put together wrong you would've noticed it within a thousand miles.

Also I don't know if it's because of the excessive wear but the drivers side rear tire doesn't look like a Pirelli P-ZERO to me.

Besides the dealership gave me the car back all fixed and I didn't pay a penny plus I only got one piece of paper for the work so there was something going on the car they're just not telling me they had it for over 2 weeks and all I was told is the alignment was badly out I was definitely asking lots of questions
