Camaro sales are struggling and Challengers are BOOMING. Mustang sales are expected, I thought there would be a higher number tho.

Not really. The Camaro's sales are still up. Which is incredible considering it hasn't had much changed. The Mustang is still going strong but the early buyers orders are getting delivered and their sharp monthly sales rise is starting to level out a bit. Challenger is doing very well and has always just kept growing. All in all the segment as a whole is just doing much better. Most likely a side affect of cheaper gas prices. Unlike it's competitors the Camaro doesn't have a lot new to show off right now and people know the 6th gen is very close. My guess is there's a lot of people waiting for the 5th gen clearance sale and the 6th gen.

Mustang sales are starting to taper off some. That should be expected after the initial rush to buy.

A guy at work bought either a V6 or a turbo 4 Mustang
The front is alright, but the rear end is disgusting. I will never figure out why the Ford design team just gave the old rear end a sharper angle with different lights and called it a day. Even in person the car doesn't flow well, I like the 5.0 refresh from the last gen much better than the new car. |

This doesn't look very good for Camaro.....Yes, 3% more is an increase, but not when your competitors go up 30-40%...That's a lot of sales "lost" to other brands....

Not surprising that the new Mustangs are taking over, just wait 'til the Gen6 Camaro hits the street!

very impressed with all 3 for February. Especially with how bad winter has been for a good majority of the country those sales numbers are pretty damn good IMO.

I don't see any total surprises.
Which dealership is that? I haven't seen anything close to that. After thinking about this a minute... yes and no. Sure, any time a competitors brand sells in a class GM offers a car in, it's a "lost" sale for GM. Conversely, the Mustang has been selling in this market for a very long time and their gains aren't so much that it surprises, at a re-launch. They've not sold 10 million by accident. The only kinda surprise would be the Challenger and who knows how long it will last? It isn't likely to remain a strong competitor, but I hope it does. That promotes the makers to make... better. That said, it isn't like GM didn't project something close to this and it is sitting pretty well for the next Camaro. All told, I see no harm to any brand here and if any "hurt" is being handed out, it's likely all soaked up to sales elsewhere, brand to brand. Last edited by RobWH; 03-03-2015 at 03:39 PM. |

I think he meant the Challenger refresh of the front and rear along with an interior refresh... Then the Hellcat has brought new showroom traffic in and that couldn't hurt the sales of other models.
