Problems with my A/C

3yrs Ago my wife and I decided to purchase a 2010 Camaro.
Car has been great but starting to get annoyed with the AC system
Not staying cold when we take a drive longer than an hour.
We have taken it to the dealer 3 times already and they dont find
Anything wrong. Im also getting a strange wistle sound at times
From the blower( that I have found 100's if not 1000's of people with the
same issue). Turns out blower is cheaply made and we have to get
The whole dash removed in order to change it.

Im so upset that the AC gets warm after a long drive and its starting to get
Very hot out now. Especially when the blower whistle starts to happen.

Love the car but the quality is starting to get to me

I have the same problem, that is; if I have the A/C on high & recycle air is on it will form ice and block the air. The work-around is to not use the recycled air option.

The car is 5 years old after all. Things wear out. If you don't want to have it repaired, then by all means, time to get a new vehicle. Oh, BTW, parts wear out on German cars too and you'll spend twice as much to have that Audi repaired.

Wouldn't it be the compressor that isn't working in this event? Seems like that's the problem and not the blower since it stops blowing cold air.

I've got a 2010 and the AC is just fine as well. Almost too cold sometimes lol

Yea I turn on the recycle once in a while. I did notice ice forming on one of the pipes closer to the engine wall/engine cabin.

Granted they all get something bad but 5yrs and I maintain car better than anything else. I want it repaired but my problem is that the dealership cant find
A single issue. Yea many cars today cost twice as much. I live in NYC
And mechanic charge for labor is intense.

Are you really "scared"? You know, years ago, no one had AC and they all made it just fine. Stuff goes wrong with cars all the time. Maybe walking is a better option... with a helmet on, of course.

It can be either. At times when we drive after 45 minutes the air gets warm.
Then other times I hear the bird chirping from blower(by far the most annoying
sound). After a while also we turn the knob to past halfway point and feel the cool air blowing very low.

The dash doesn't need to be removed. The HVAC motor is located behind the glove box. They remove the glove box and cut out the HVAC fan and replace it with a new one.

Not really scared I love car but mostly owned eauropean and japanese cars. This is my first american car. Love the look and feel but when you purchase something you want your dealer to try to figure something out instead of saying nothing is wrong.

No, the compressor is fine. And it only happened to me on real hot & humid days. I figured out is was ice blocking by turning off the A/C and keeping the fan on high, pushed a lot of moisture out the vents at me, and then all was cleared.
