So I did this today add bought some cheap item for $15 and saved $2. That was testing the code to see if it worked. A couple hours later after thinking about parts, I was ready to purchase the vitesse throttle controller. Input that code and it rejected the transaction because that code was already used

eBay seems to do a promotion every other week or so, or at least once a month usually. If you can hold off, I'd say wait until their next one.

Yes no rush so I’ll wait. A few months ago I did it with success on my rim purchase and saved to max $100 amount but gained extra cash from the ebucks program. I’m always taking advantage of these deals.

Yeah, it's always nice when they come up because you can usually find parts on eBay for a bit cheaper, so the promotions are icing on the cake. I actually got an email earlier this morning about an 8% eBay bucks promotion through 3/15 @ 11:59pm PT. It's invite only though, so check your account or email and see if you got it as well.
