Having moved to my current location in the past 6 months, I knew it was only a matter of time that the parking lot wars would escalate.

Well they did; about a week ago!

This incident was caught on mutliple cameras with audio (audio muted on purpose , due to legal reasons) but from the moment the landlord came into the building he was itching for a fight and figured by leading out the front door of my store, he wouldn't be caught on tape.................WRONG!

Charges are pending against the landlord.

What would you do, if this happened to you ?

The AUDIO would suprise you, as he's leading me out the door, he's cussing, etc. I just can't release the audio version yet, due pending legal against the landlord..

Plus the other cameras showing him coming in, etc , shows he wanted to fight!

by what i can see,it looks like you were just argueing with him.did not see any physical contact.the consealed gun would be his word against yours.i am on your side,but i don't see a law suit from the video.

re-watch the video, where it pauses you will see he hit me in chest with his fists.

Audio will document (can't release yet) that the reason I started to walk away is I said "if you pull out that gun, it's on like a MF'er"

After his punch to my chest, he said "my word against yours", my reply "wrong a$$hole, your caught on tape" and motion by pointing out cameras to him

I don't know bro. It doesn't look like much of an assault from that video. Without the sound it looks like your just as much to blame. After all at the end it looks like you're chasing after him looking to throw down. I know If it was me and I knew someone had a gun I wouldn't be up in their grill in a word battle with them. I would leave, lock the door and call the cops. I would say it was a mutual word battle. May the sound paints a much different picture.

Yeah it looks that way per video.. When I release the audio version, it will become clear...

And I never left my property, I went out to get his license plate number and I'm telling my staff the plate to relay to cops............

The cops cited him with simple battery, but it's upto States Attorney to prosecute......... However, since the incident, it has been 100% verified he does "NOT" have a concealed weapons permit, a FELONY in Florida.....

I have a concealed weapons permit and carry all the time!

I'm sure there's more to it than the video without sound is showing. That's one of the reasons why video isn't always as definitive as people think. Good luck to you. Hope he isn't a constant source of frustration for you.

As is commonly understood in Political Science, the landlords are the first to be targeted by an enraged populace. Revolutions are not kind to those who most directly exploit the rest of us. Sad it may be, but the landlords end up swinging at the end of piano wire nooses from lamp posts.

That dude was playing a game that can't be won. He is lucky you didn't shoot him dead once he put his hand on his gun. If you have your CCW then you've been trained and you know you don't touch it unless you're going to pull it. You showed a lot of constraint IMO but hey I live in Detroit.

Not to get off track here, but what exactly are "the parking lot wars" you refer to? You said "you knew it was only a matter of time that it would escalate", like you've been expecting something.

What's the landlords beef with parking?

In Florida we have the "no retreat" law. Once the landlord puts hands on him he had the right to defend himself with whatever force he sees fit. The fact that he chased the guy away means nothing. If you were in Florida you all could of jumped him and he would have no legal recourse. In Florida once you put hands on somone be careful. Half the guys I know would shoot you. Not gangsters, white 40+ year old businessmen are ready down here especially the bar owners.

I'm a landlord and I would never put my hands on a tenant.
