Hey guys, Just wondering if there are any Walgreens employees out there?

What do you think of all the changes announced this week?

They are changing the management structure in the stores over the next 3 years.

Basically I have to get a promotion in the next year or so or I will lose 4 dollars an hour because my position is being eliminated and I would have to accept the new position which is paid less.

Get a job with CVS! They've been pretty dang good to me for the past (almost) 14 years.

Let me guess - they (Walgreens) are doing away with the Assistant Manager role and wanting Assistants to either move up to a Manager or step down to a shift supervisor. Amirite?!?!?

Yes your right. But even if I step down I will still be making a lot more than I would if I were to apply for CVS. No offense to you or any CVS people, but they dont pay for crap.

My fellow manager used to be a store manager with CVS and he has told me nothing but bad things about their pay structure.

They dont exist where i am. Im not too worried right now guys because I have over a year to figure myself out. Basically they will start promoting people in April of 2013 and if I dont get promoted then I will start thinking things over. My pay isnt likely to get cut until that time anyway.

Yeah we have a 1 year old so any pay cut is going to suck big time.

Thats the excuse they are using anyway. Even though the company will still post billions of dollars of profit without express scripts, they feel the need to use this an an excuse to make cuts.

I have money in savings but not enough to "live" on for very long.
