DIC update requests
1) I want to be able to see my trip meter on the same screen as the Speed. (resets can still be done from the trip meter screens themselves) Every car I have ever had has a trip meter that is always visible, except this one. Given the far left placement of the analog speedometer (hard to quick-glance while driving) I pretty much always have the Digital speed visible.
2a) Low Fuel indicator should show up no matter what screen you are on, but not block the view of what is normally on that screen. i.e. dont block the speed number to tell me my fuel is low. 2b) Low Fuel indicator should not block the view of how many miles you can drive on your current tank of gas. Anyone else have ideas? Maybe someone at GM can take notes? |

I'd really like MPH and avg MPG on the same page

Never happen. It's not completely accurate. it only takes your avg MPG and divides it by how many gallons are left in your tank. If it told you that you had x number of miles left to go, you could easily run out with say 25 miles left. I've never seen a vehicle tell you how many miles you have left after the low fuel indicator came on. Just never drop below a 1/4 tank and you won't have that problem. It's bad for ur fuel pump anyhow

"hey you, driver, you'll be outta gas in 20 miles" "hey you driver, your avergae mpg is 20, 22, 17, 19. 24, 21, 11, 28, 33, 88, 12, 34, 12,......... tired of me yet?" "hey you driver, you have driven 22 miles and you now accumulated 3000 total miles and you need an oil and filter change now" "You have just gone over 3100 miles and you need your car serviced as soon as possible" "You have logged 3200 miles and you MUST service your car immediately!" "hey driver, you are lazy!" |

Custom screen would be the best. I'd love to see instant MPG somewhere. Also some of you ODBII info would be nice...incoming air temp, engine temp. Would be awesome if GM would make this and the radio user configurable. You can get nav directions on both, so there is a comm channel. I'd love to put vehicle diagnostics on the radio display when I wanted to. They could send us all a usb drive w/ an update we could install!! you know, while I'm dreaming.........

I would like this added feature. "Slow down, there's a cop 1/2 mile ahead" whenever I am approaching a policeman. Or I would like a 1/4 mile timer with the 1/4 mile speed and ET. A "G" force meter for practicing dragrace launches would be good also. A screen to show the fastest speed that you have gone in your car for bragging rights. Seriously, I love my SS just the way that it is.

I'd like to see Instant MPG. Another thing that bothers me that probably doesnt bother anyone else is that the menu select control seems backwards. You have to spin it backwards to proceed forward through the menu items. Also, I'd like an icon somewhere to tell me when AFM is running.

Would be awsome to have one custom screen with all of the perimeters the ecm monitors. I would love to see spark, o2, coolant temp, oil pressure, etc etc all on one screen.
