Sucks to hear that. The airbag was a certifiable PITA when I removed mine. Of all the vehickes where I've removed airbags, this one was the worst.

chevrolet cruze this site will explain in an easy removal of the air bag, and the air bag camaro and the cross are the same. the introduction of the correct key is essential in the release of the bag.

Old thread but I wanted to add to this.
The airbag takes about 4 seconds to get off, slide a screwdriver in, and push, repeat for the other side. The steering bezel comes apart into three pieces, so I was able to do two tone. Masked off the small bowtie, used a thin feeler gauge to help work the tape into cracks. |
