It's the 2LS models that get a solid 30+mpg I believe.

I drive 45 miles to work, 40 of which is interstate at 75 mph. I average 20.5 on the dash, 19.5 using actual maths tank to tank. I don't accelerate gently, well, ever.

That's for sure, this newer camaro would eat my old Camaros alive. Not even a race.

Mikeman that makes sense because they have higher gears in them. I think I'm right on mark for what I'm driving. It runs unbelievable, anyone driving lt would never know it was a v6.

Not bad at all. Anything close to 20 mpg with this engine and bolt ons is really all you can ask for, IMO.

I feel if I am getting over 20 mpg in my car then I am doing something wrong.

I never got over 17 mpg no matter what driving I do. My average is 14. I'm a lead foot.

So this is kind of weird. My 2011 2SS manual mpg avg over a span of 4 yrs, was around 16. Most of my driving in this car was city, but off peak traffic. It would get out on the highway on occasional weekends, some cruising, some, 'spirited' (never raced anyone)

Jump forward to my 2018 1SS manual. My driving again almost all city, however, going in is peak traffic, lots of lights, stop and go etc. I get it out on Sundays to the highway. some cruising, some 'spirited', never race. I reset the fuel and trip on my last oil change. After 2000 miles, I'm averaging 19.3 mpg. My style of driving is not reckless, but I'm first off the light and never accused of holding up traffic.

That isn't weird. Your new SS is direct injection and they get better fuel mileage than the ls3 or l99. Barbs car is a V6 as are most of the guys posting on this thread. Don't compare yourself to a V6

I could give a falling fig about my gas mileage to be honest, so excuse my interruption, but your comment caught my attention and made me laugh because it's so true. The first time that "warning" message popped up on my dash, I was like, "What is this? Can the car actually detect black ice? Are my tires frozen?!! Did I just slide across ice and miss it??"
Come to find out that it's just a stupid message to let me know that it's cold outside because, apparently, the temperature gauge on my readout and the freezing air against my face just isn't enough of an indication.

Anyways, on a side note, I bought my 2014 1LT LFX at 40k miles from a dealership. How can I determine if it has been tuned or if it's just running on stock? If this isn't the proper thread for this question, then I apologize and will post properly.

Ha! You just used the "Chewbacca defense."
The small geoup of us who do the simple common sense thing behind the wheel are becoming a vast minority. New generations barely know here to put the gas. Due to ineptness and lack of maintenance, auto makers have to add all these silly novelties. watch the conmercials.....cars that parallel park....auto braking sensors....navigation systems.....front and rear cameras.....extended life oils (synthetic).....and the list goes on.

I hate that warning with a passion. It’ll come back on while driving even if it warns you when you get in the car.
