I wouldn't read too much into the 0-60... There have been many occasions the stock 5th Gen ZL1 has cracked off a 3.8 sec 0-60 mph. Stock 6th gen SS average 4-4.2 sec to 60. In the real world, the 5th gen ZL1 can handle a stock 6th gen SS no problem. Please note, I'm not disrespecting the SS as it is a very quick car, and impressive to say it can nearly hang with a ZL1.

Interesting but respectfully I think those two cars might be a little bit of a stretch for the ZL1. I would say the Gen 6 ZL1 would hang with those two.

Yea Pig in Heels Hellcat. Its an assumption that it will be a straight line screamer, but in the ovals the ZL1 owns a Hellcat too!

LS, no the ZL 1 belongs to a friend of the neighbor. You can never have too many Camaros parked in your front yard. Check Motor Trend mag July 28 '15. Apples to apples the Mustang and the Fiat ( I mean Mopar ) are about a 1/2 sec quicker in the 1/4 but in real world street thumping the variables of driver and road conditions could close the gap. Plus, Camaros are way better looking. Of course I'm a little biased. On a side note ( if you haven't already) check out the Nurburgring video of the 2014 Z/28. 8 min of pure coolness. This is how every Camaro enthusiast pictures himself driving.

I will never understand the 0-60 thing. I have never thought the race was over at 60. Not with cars, boats, bikes, or anything else. In the real world a ZL1 will kill the SS.
Don't get me wrong, the SS is great car that is fast but nothing trumps hp. I have a deposit on a new C8 ZO6 that is suppose to have an unreal 0-60, but it better be fast too.

This is exactly what I mean and I agree with you here. I’m interested in real world experiences. If someone were to do a race on a highway with little to hardly any traffic that race is going to go past 60 mph at least. I know an ss is lighter and all and will probably keep up with a Zl1 till maybe about 60 but after that I think the ZL1 will walk away from it eventually. I’m not sure if anyone has raced a stock gen 6 ss with their stock gen 5 ZL1 and is able to tell us who won the race and by how much?

Awesome to hear your getting a C8 Z06 I’m sure you look forward to that and I bet it is fast from 0-60. All Z06’s are fast lol especially starting from a c6 z06.

That is just BS, no matter how many times you say it doesn't make it true.
My V6 sedan will "keep up with" anything to 60 if that means losing by many car lengths. So why do you keep posting that?

Your point is what? I must be a slow learner so please explain. [I did not ride in the short bus either]

He doesn't even own a Camaro and keeps posting about how heavy and bad handling and slow the ZL1 is without even driving it hard or seeing it in a race. Or how a 400hp car "keeps up with it". He has been posting that crap in the General, ZL1 and Z28 sections.
It's almost like Gringo and his faster than you V6 made a new login. I don't know what happened to the enforcement of page 2 of registration asking what Camaro car you have prior to approval to post or make new threads. There is value added having former owners sharing knowledge but trolling by a non-owner isn't welcome.

More specifically to your question, "keep up with" is vague. A car with less hp or more weight can still be some car lengths behind and some will marvel with a comment "He kept up with him" as the car clearly loses. Being a second slower in the 1/4 is a big difference when comparing performance cars. If this were the Minivan forum, not so much.
