Hope that helped make you feel better, let us know how it goes best of luck.

Use two stock gaskets, and install all the bolts, and tighten them in the right sequence per the shop manual. If you do that, you will be fine.

guess you'll know for sure if you've found the problem once you get it back together. only having 3 miles on it, its not like you've really done anything like high rev's that could have created larger issues. sounds like you'll be fine. but im interested to know how oil went UP through the intake. my guess is that it was sucked up due to the vacuum in the manifold and the airflow between the spacer and the cylinder head...if that makes sense. and the oil could have been residual oil left in the runners from before putting in your catch can, but that seems like an excessive amount. maybe tracy can chime in on that aspect of it. good luck and thanks for the pics/update.

Thank you guys for the support. It really means alot!

I re-assembled today using stock gaskets and just skipped the spacer for now, to eliminate that potential source for leaking.

But the symptoms persist. Appointment made with local Chevy dealer for next week- gonna throw myself on the mercy of the court!

And if I keep dinkin' with this thing out in the garage, my wife's gonna divorce me!

Shoulda quit 1 mod ago, but I got over confident and got bit! I'm getting too old for this stuff and I should have known better... Fun while it lasted though!

Will let ya know how it turns out .

Silly question - did you cut the "nubs" off the stock gasket?

Is there a chance the IM or the iceolator is warped?

Yep, I prepped the gasket for use with the spacers (first time for Mace 1" and 2nd time for Rx 3/8th's).

No obvious bends in the Ice-o-lator. I was disappointed Jay did not return the new IM I sent him, but the ported (but obviously used) one I received appears to be serviceable.
