I hear ya man. We're all doing thsi stuff to our SS' now. Agree it would be nice to do some of it and charge few extra so we don't go through the trials and errors ourselves just to have warranties voided and finger pointing. |

Not much in the way of details, but there is a decent amount of speculation. They are replacing both the gen IV engines and the northstar V8s. Direct injection and variable valve timing are pretty much guaranteed. I bet most gen V's hooked up to an automatic will feature active fuel management. The engines are supposed to rev a bit higher due to lessons learned in Nascar racing. The entire family is supposed to be all aluminum (some gen IV truck engines are still iron block). Pushrods will remain, though there might be overhead cam truck engines. Also, there may be a 3 valve pushrod engine. Two main displacements are expected, 5.3L and 6.2L though there could easily more (and probably will be more). It is widely believed that there will be a 5.5L version, but that is based on nothing more than the fact that Corvette racing uses a 5.5L and its said to be a prototype for the next gen engines.
