Fast Oil Change Places ???

Hey Guys and Gals,

Do any of you recommend any quick oil change places?

I don't know if I want to by a Low Profile floor jack for $100 just to change the oil.
I know it's good for other things.

No. Just don't do that. It's always a mistake to use those places. Get a nice set of ramps and then you'll be set to do it yourself forever. You will regret it if you use a place like that.

For how much that car cost, using one of those places that are notorious for ruining engines is just not worth it.

No way! Those places are a bunch of high school kids with 1 day of training.

At least use a dealer and tell the service manager you would like to observe the work, so that you can learn more about the car...When you're really checking their competence...

I just wanted to feel the heat of the flame. LOL

I respect your opinions.

My friend said he used this place and he recommended it.

I'm like...I don't think so, just didn't want to laugh in his face, like you guys are laughing in mine...LOL.

I took it to Chevy for the freebie last October, at around 14k.
It's at 18.7 now and it's barking at me to change it.

ok...I'm gonna do it my self.

Bought a set of low profile ramps.

I just need to get 8 qts of 5W-30 mobile 1. I saw 8.7-9 Qts. in a spec sheet.
And the Delco or Mobil filter.

I did read that on the 2014, you don't have to take off the shield...I hope that is correct.
Nope...I just read that it's a small access for the cat, or filter, but you still need to drain the oil.
So the deflector has to be R&R'd.

so that's about 30 Minutes to an hour crawling around on my back.
...
Yeah...It's about the satisfaction of changing my own oil.

MMM...Chevy...how much does that Oil change cost????

I think my last change was $52.00 and some change...I only change the oil twice a year beginning of spring and late summer...I'm not a DIYer and have no shame in letting it be known...lol

Try to find a place with a oil change pit, and a place that uses top quality synthetic grades such as Mobil 1. Its important that you can observe the work when the car is being serviced, so keep this in mind.

Buy the jack and do it yourself. It's an easy job have the jack for any other reason you need to get under the car.

But most importantly, don't forget jack stands

Personally, I would not take any of my vehicles to one of those places. Too many horror stories.

Two Jacks, Two Jack Pads from zl1 addons,4 Jack Stands

And a small 1/4" impact with 10mm and T10 (i think)

1" socket for my KN filter

Amsoil Oil and a New KN Filter

Less than 30min...
