Anyone successfully update their PDIM software?

It seems that most dealers don't know how to update the software on the PDIM (the device that interfaces with the radio to add a USB port, bluetooth streaming, and Aux in).

From what I hear, they can get the MDI (the device that connects to the car) to connect but they can't get the software to take.

I'm in need of a dealer in the Socal area that has successfully updated the PDIM.

Sorry this is off topic, I was just curious if you work at Mercedes Benz of Laguna Niguel?

I would think updating the radio software is the same procedure as updating the PDIM software. We should call one of the dealers from the PDIM Software Update thread and see if they've tried to update a radio. Maybe they can explain what we're doing wrong.

Bob Stall in La Mesa, CA was able to do mine. I was the first and it took them a while to figure it out, but I had it updated to "CD" the beginning of Sept.

I had the HVAC update done for my car at Sierra Chevrolet. What was the VIN series that needs the PDIM update?

Just called my dealer to ask what they did. At first they were like "they're a Chevy dealer and don't know how to find it?" to which I replied, "well it took you a week to figure out how to do it". They then said to tell your dealer to access the SI Website and look for 8EFF5. (note that I believe this is for ver CD and there may be a new ver CE available)

Hopefully that helps.

thanks slvrphx! they just weren't able to get the god-darn radio to receive the update. at first, the mdi would not communicate with the radio, but eventually it did. i guess i shouldnt have returned the part so quickly. guess i'll wait and then i'll have to pay a visit to your dealer.
