Help! Eboost2 controller mounting (60mm)
So I finally got my Hellion kit installed and tuned by Matt and Rodney @ FSP (I'll make a results thread eventually with details), but we weren't able to find a good solution to mount the boost controller. It's an odd size...so pillar gauge pods don't seem to work. I've seen that there are guys here running this boost controller. Any pics of how you guys mounted it?
I have the dash mount for it...but really don't want to screw the thing into my dashboard! Thanks in advance for the help... |

Very cool. That's actually what I was thinking, just wasn't sure how to pull it off and if there were any other options so I didn't have to lose the vent. So you just removed the vent insert and made a bezel out of ABS or something?

I never felt I got that much benefit from that particular AC vent and I didn't notice a difference afterwards.
I didn't use a bezel, I bought a rubber coupler made for plumbing and cut it shorter. I removed the AC vent, etc and the rubber coupler was a snug fit in there and the gauge fit in it. If the gauge is loose, you may need to wrap a couple of layers of electrical tape around the gauge to take up the slack. I ordered one of the mounting cups from turbosmart for mine and mounted it inside the glove box. I just used the adhesive on the bottom of it to stick it to the glove box.

Ok, so do you have to open the glove box to adjust it? Just trying to understand it fully...pics?

My lines are all run to mount it either on the pillar or dash, although they did leave me enough line to move it a little bit once I made up my damn mind about where to put it...it would just require a little extra dis-assembly to move it.
Anyone try to modify a pillar pod to work? The controller seems to be too big for the small sized pod...and too small for the larger sized pod. I can only seem to find a pillar mount for the 2 1/16 sized gauges anyway? |

Yes you do have to open the glove box to adjust it. Dont have any pics handy but its on the left side of the glove box and its right there when you open the glove box. I like my stuff to be hidden.
