The dire warnings about getting it off of your car fast, or else the acid will eat your paint, are indeed true. I had a beautiful black third gen a few years ago, the paint looked like it was wet. Went out on a three day field problem to find that a Tyranosaurus Pigeon had mistaken my car for a giant toilet for giant birds with giant colons. I assume the 75- pound- or- so turd had been there for three days. After I shoveled down to the car underneath, and washed the rest off, I discovered that the clear coat was entirely gone, and even the paint itself had been partially eaten. The only repair was a full repaint of the entire hood. Not a fan of feathered f'n friends.

Like everyone else said, get it off ASAP. I keep a bottle of Adam's detail spray and some micro fiber towels in the trunk for just such occasions.

I parked mine under a tree to go get a hair cut this weekend then noticed about a 100 blackbirds land in it,needless to say I jumped in it quick and moved it,got lucky.
