Any ideas for getting rid of rust on break disk?

I bought my car used and the only downside about the car was some rust on the break disk. Not on the actually disk were the caliper grabs, more on the inside. So sure it may not affect the caliper or brakes, however I can't stand looking at it!! Sometimes even my friends will ask what the rust is !

Its not the best picture but hopefully you can sort of see the rusk, its all around the inner part of the break disk.

Any ideas on how I can get rid of the rusk fairly easily and not expensive? Let me know if you guy's have any ideas, thanks!

it's called a rotor "hat".

take the wheel off, clean the rust off and paint the sides of the hat with high temp paint. do not paint the top of the hat.

if you take the rotor off to paint, then you must clean all the rust off the rotor hat inside and out as well as the wheel hub.

Oh wow I had no idea it was called the rotor hat. And okay what would you suggest to get the rust off, I've tried a few things but nothing seems to take it off.

The high temp paint part shouldn't be a problem, do I have to get the rust of first?

This is what I did to get rid of the rust on the rotors and paint the calipers. Use Scotch Brite to take off the rust first.

3M makes a kit that attaches to a 3/8 drill. Try NAPA or someplace like that.

I did the same as Smokin14 - Scotch Brite, mask and paint the hat.
