Car theft in under 15 seconds

So much for alarms and kill switches. This tow truck driver was in and out in 15 seconds. Not a Camaro, but it just as easily could have been.

I worked at a GM plant in Framingham Ma in the late 70's to early 80's. Co-worker just purchased a new car and followed it on the assembly line just a few weeks prior. One day at the end of the shift he went to the parking lot and his car was missing. When he went to plant security they showed him the repossession papers (fake) that they were presented with prior to allowing the flatbed to drive away with his car.....

That was a very bold move for the scammers, but why didn't the plant security inform your friend that his car we being towed?? . I'm sure if they did non of that would have happened.

Not sure about the back story but it may have just been timing. Once when the delivery truck drivers were on strike we could not deliver vehicles. The plant continued to produce until they ran out of storage room. They literally had thousands of cars completed and stored on land across the street awaiting delivery. Even with the help of hired security patrolling the storage location it was amazing what they found missing.

Grabbing a car today as the OP shows is just as easy as ever with a little bravery. Hiding them however today needs some sophisticated electronic hacking but it is being done every day. In your driveway on Thursday, in a shipping container on Friday.....

Lots of risk....Ask any repo guy.....

The only way to stop a car thief is to make another car more attractive to steal.
