Warranty Question - 4-gauge cluster

I have a 2015 2SS. I want to remove the 4-gauge cluster (located behind the shifter) and use that space for storage like it is in the non-SS models. I've been told in a different sub-forum that it's a simple task. I just want to make sure that removing it won't void my warranty.

And by the way:

-- I agree the gauges look cool and are a throwback to the original Camaro dash design, but the same gauge info is in the DIC, and I'd make better use of that space for my driving glasses and such.

-- I do realize I'll have to replace the bezel.

I wouldn't void a warranty for that. Hell, I wouldn't even be looking for it missing unless the customer said something about it being missing lol.

Thanks, I'm just a little edgy about with that whole "catch can" debacle from last month.

Shouldn't void the warranty, and I will even trade you my non gauge cluster piece for your gauge cluster

Maybe to be safe it would be a good idea to see if Chevy will send you email confirmation that disconnecting the 4-pack gauge cluster will not void the electrical system warranty.
The gauge cluster does look nice in the console but I do not actually look at that very often while driving. The DIC/HUD is a lot closer to line-of-sight.

In my previous Camaro I added the 4-pack gauges myself and left it in the new car for the next owner; the new 2SS already had them.

I've sent an email to GM. We'll see what they say.

I use that space for storage all the time - great for glasses or cell phones. It was always such an impractical place to put gauges IMO.

I love the gauges. I don't want to be flipping pages in the DIC to see if I have oil pressure as I am power shifting. Besides my sunglasses fit in the door panel pocket with the case perfectly.

I got an email response back from Chevy on this. As I half-expected, I didn't get an answer. They said I have to take it to a Chevy dealership and have it looked at by a mechanic. I called the number below and got the same answer. She said that they have to check the vehicle and make sure there's nothing else defective that might cause an issue with removing the gauges, which makes sense if they want to be sure they're covered. I'm due for an oil change, so I'll just ask about it when I get that done. If the dealership wants to charge extra to give me an answer, I'll just remove it and hope an issue never comes up.

THE EMAIL RESPONSE FROM CHEVY:
