Thumbs up You're going to wish you lived in Puerto Rico.

My experience at the Dealer for a test drive.

Today after work, I went by the Chevy dealer at Arecibo, PR. I asked the sales rep to show me the SS. He started by showing me this Victory Red "SS SR". As soon as he said "SR" I thought: Just shut up and and hand me the keys so I can test drive it. Other than the SR thing he was very nice and knew a little bit about the car.

Test Drive:
Driving the Camaro felt like driving an aircraft carrier from the back of the runway. The front visibility sucked ass. I couldn't see the road for 30 feet in front of the car (I'm used to the view from my 328 where I can see the road 5 feet in front of the car). I raised the seat way up and that improved the problem a little bit but then the rear view mirror created a blind spot. I really did not care about any rear blind spots as I like to use those little wide-view mirrors on my side mirrors.
I hated the SILENCE when driving it. I'm definitely making mine louder when I get it. The HUD rocks. The ride was amazing. The bad thing is I didn't get the chance to floor it because we went through a slow back road with a lot of traffic. Will try again somewhere else.

BEST PART:
The best part of the experience, and here is where we get to the title of the thread and the punchline, was... I asked the sales rep: "What if I want to modify it? What happens to the warranty?" My heart was racing when he said: "We have authorized dealers for any modification and performance parts that you'd like. You can do the whole exhaust, supercharger, tune it, anything you like and we will honor the warranty, as long as it's with one of our authorized dealers."
That was me.

So this changes my whole plan for the car. I had planned to do as much as the "Chevy warranty" would allow until the warranty ran out. Now I have unlimited possibilities for the car AND I keep the warranty.

Don't you wish you lived in Puerto Rico now?

Any ideas?

Um, no. I'd rather void my warranty and stay in the USA but, glad you sort of liked the car.

that's the sales rep talking, his job to get you to bite and buy. I guess you won't know until you actually buy a Camaro, do a true performance mod like a Supercharger, have a problem with the drive train that'll cost big $$ to fix, and GM sends a local rep to validate the warranty work....you'll know then.

I'm going to wish I lived in Puerto Rico???... Bad water, high unemployment, high crime rate, corrupt police, bad roads, bad drivers, bad medical treatment, high gas prices, etc.

Yep, I wish I lived there.

I didn't say it was a state, but it is a territory of the US.

get that (warranty + mods = covered) in writing.

Sales guy will tell you anything to sell one..
it'll be a different story when you hit the service desk to get it fixed.

You could say that about America too, so I don't see your point.

on topic: I Say Bull, I think he is just saying only what you want to here, if it is true get it in writing and Find out where are these supposed authorized shops.

The manager gave me more details about the mods and warranty than the rep. Of course I would get it in writing.

Knowed. Oops.
