Who has moved from the 6 to the 8? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I searched the fourm but have only seen one thread on this, but I'm curious how many folks have traded in their V6 for the V8? Me, I made the switch this weekend for a deal that was too good to pass up...traded in my 2010 RS for a 2010 2SS LS3 with 10k fewer miles on it for a little more than the sticker price difference between them. I'm not counting the costs of my mods (CAI, MRT exhaust, etc) on the RS as I have to find some way to rationalize it!

While I enjoyed my RS these past two years, once I got in the SS....holy crap!

Now I get to research all of the V8 mods I can do.

I've been pondering this myself, but maybe next year. Did you all get decent trade in values for your cars?? Some of you even went from a 2011 to another 2011, how was that?

I drove a stock V6 and it is a nice car, no complaints, but it does not compare to the V8 in the power department.

Just like any other time you trade in. You take the hit and keep on going. It was worth it though to get what I really wanted all along. My hit was right at $4k.

Well, that's not too bad!! Yeah, I figured it would be a hit! I would love to so I would stop hearing the V6/V8 stuff from non-Camaro owners. Drives me mad!!

I do love my 6 banger though, and there is always next time. I was just curious how you all did it, and how it went.

I honestly don't think I could do it. Maybe she don't have a V8, or leather seats, or extra power, but she's mine...I got 'er fixed JUST the way I want her...Just like Mellish50's sig says:

Plan on getting a 1SS in 3-6months
I really don't want a 2SS, since I have a 2LT now and have experience the HUD and leather, I could care less as long as I got the power instead
