Siphoning my gas tank

I want to siphon about 12 gals of winter gas that contains storage additives (Sta-Bil) and top it off with a fresh load of 93.

So, I bought a siphon, but I couldn't get the suction hose down the gas tank fill tube. Is there an anti-siphon screen in the tube?

Alfie

To answer your question since no one has yet, yes the Camaro has a anti-siphon tank. Almost all vehicles since the late '90s have this.

You're better off just driving it like already said unless you want to take it a shop and pay them to remove your gas tank and empty it.

Another thing to keep in mind, here in the south the winter mix is still being used and will continue for about another month according to one of my manager buddies a local gas house so I'm certain there in Detroit where you live will also be using the winter mix.

Since you prepared the fuel for storage you don't have anything to worry about, go out for a long drive and enjoy.

Nothing wrong with good precautions, shows you care that you'd rather drain old gas out (regardless of stabilizing additives), but you have nothing to worry about OP. Just drive the gas out and enjoy a somewhat free tank of gas. (since you originally planned to get rid of it, haha)

You could also unplug your fuel line and let the fuel pump empty the tank. I've done this to empty tanks and even get some gas for my lawn mower, LOL.

Yes, everyone is giving me the obvious suggestions, like I didn't already consider that the gas is OK and I could just drive it off.

Of course, I know that. I wanted to get a fresh load of 93 for my annual spring dyno runs.

Also, I promised my daughter 12 gals of free gas. I'll just drive it and flip her $40...err, I mean $55.

Thanks.

Alfie

Is there any way to accomplish this with a small diameter hose that could get by any obstructions?
