Removed the camaro from winter storage
I just took the camaro out from winter storage and I notice the transmission light stayed on all day. Had on star run engine diagnostic and got the following error code:Engine control sytem detected miss fire Error P0300
Have anyone else seen this error? I am taking it to dealer in morning to see what they can tell me. Its been sitting since November till today. Hope its not nothing major thanks for any advice or help you guys and gals can provide. |

Check all the spark plug wires, coil pack, and O2 sensors. Could also be something with the fuel injectors, burned exhaust valve, or a stuck EGR valve.
If it had a number at the end of it like "P0303" it would mean a direct misfire with cylinder 3, but because it is all 0's could be a number of things.

First thing I would do is clear the code and see if it comes back. Might just be a hangover from its long winter nap. If you don't have a handheld tuner you can just disconnect the battery for a few minutes to clear it.

No stabilizer use left it with about 11 gallons of gas daily start ups all winter long. I am taking it to dealer tomorrow to see what this maybe.

I had a CEL as well when I started it yesterday for the first time in 4 months. The Torque app tells me it's a cylinder misfire but it's running and driving normally. I think it's a hangover as well so I will just clear it and see if it returns. I did have a full tank, stabil, and a battery tender on it.

You started it every day? Sorry, if the car is not coming up to full operating temp that leaves moisture in the system. Possible that you have some corrosion causing connectivity issues in an electrical connection if you were starting it all winter long and not driving it.

Seriously, you started your car every day while in storage. That is probably the worst thing you could do to your car. It is so simple to put a car in winter storage. Put in stabil and fill the tank, hook up a battery tender, pump up the tires, cover the car and start counting the days till it comes out.

My son had this issue two times, same code with his supercharged GTP, and it ended up finding a misfire 250 times on cylinder 5, that plug was smoked, and we ended up changing the plug wires, coil module, and plugs, and it's fixed. That code is a difficult one to diagnose.

You also might want to check your exhaust system. If you were starting it everyday you were building up a tremendous amount of condensation in your exhaust pipes and mufflers because you were not getting them hot enough to burn it off. The same goes for your motor, if you haven't yet, change your oil.
When I store my Harley's and my Camaro they get oil changes going in, battery tenders and don't get started till I am ready to start driving them again. Starting any vehicle in freezing weather and shutting it off without driving it to heat everything up is "severe duty" at it's finest.

My money is on a fouled plug, possibly caused by condensation in the fuel system...
