DSSV Front Strut Help

If anyone with a new Z plans to take apart their front springs/struts apart I need some help if you would.

Can you grab the part number from the bump stop for me?

I have a Z/28 customer that wanted a complete spare set of drop in struts/shocks, and I have them here all assembled.

Rears are complete, but the front is short one piece.
GM says the stock SS bump stop fits the Z/28 strut also but that is not correct. The bump stop has a center diameter of about 19mm and the strut is 45mm Hmmmm
They then told me the bump stop sits on top of the 44mm shaft on the 14mm bit where the mount bolts down. If you do that the bump stop will not do it's job and the main problem is the upper mount will not fit.

Here are some pictures to show you.
First is how the strut should look (spring missing for photo only)

This photo shows the dust boot removed and where GM says the bump stop should go.

Either the front Z strut doesn't use an external bump stop, or GM is giving the incorrect part number in the parts catalog and in their internal drawings.

The rear Z/28 strut has an external bump stop and is part of the dust boot/shield.

Any help would be great,
Greg

Back from the dead so just an FYI
I have had the Z/28 struts apart and the front uses an internal bump stop. Here is a picture of it.
