license plate light recall

Anyone else get this on the 12's? states if we dont have the proper rear towing hook, it can dislodge the license plate light, causing it to heat up up the back bumper causing injury to anyone that leans or comes in contact with it while getting in and out of the trunk... weird. who gets 'IN' and 'OUT' of the trunk??

I noticed last year one of my lights didn't work. I tried to put the light back in the lens but it wouldn't go in, it came from the factory this way. I finally remembered and went to the dealer, they ordered me a new lens and the light now fits and works.

I make the valets get out though the trunk, I don't want them using my doors.

I got this recall as well. They claim the bulb can melt the bumper if dislodged. I have leds in those sockets so i didnt read much into it.

I haven't got a recall yet but my bumper has an actual hole from this issue. I thought I was SOL

Yes its true... BUT it's not a recall but just a TSB. I went to the dealer but the dealer will not change it unless it falls off & melts the bumper
So much for preventive maintenance...
Must be cheaper this way than changing it in all the Camaros that could be affected

Got a letter from Chevy today on this issue. I've got LEDS back there, so I don't forsee a problem.

Just received my letter and called the dealer. They know nothing about it but told me to bring it by and they'll take care of it.
