2015 - water sloshing sound in the trunk area

I just a got a new 2015 vert. When I wash it, then move the car (within 20 minutes or so) I hear water sloshing around in the trunk area. I know there's a water bag or something for drainage back there, but I had a 2014 vert and never heard it do that after washing. So far I haven't found any wet spots inside the car, and it doesn't smell mildewy at all. It was on the lot for about five months (during summer in Florida), so by now I'd expect it to at least smell bad if it was leaking. Anyone else experiencing this?

Welcome to the Green Flash owner's club!!! Is yours a stick or auto? Options?

In answer to your question, I ordered mine and got it in April have had zero issues with water sloshing or mildew or anything.

I had a 2012 Vert 1LT with no issues with the top or the water system. It was one of my trades when I got my new Green Flash coupe. But my other trade was a 2013 1LT coupe and every so often if the tank was 1/2 to 3/4 full of fuel I could hear the gas slosh in the gas tank.
Is your fuel tank full when you move your car around?
Since I've purchased the new car I have the tank close to full all the time and don't hear the gas slosh.
You should be under warranty so maybe take it in and have it looked at?

I doubt it's gasoline in the tank. I've only heard it do this twice, and both times it was right after washing it, when I pulled it into the driveway to dry it.

Thanks for the warm welcome!
I got an automatic. A stick is more fun, but I'd go crazy if I had to drive one in the city!

I'm going to introduce myself to that Green Flash thread when I get some decent pictures. There was a different thread for that edition, but it was an older one from when the were just a rumor and not yet released. So far, mine is the only one I've seen in town!

when you hear it look in the rear well under the battery, it will pool there. Made the mistake of playing with the deck height knobs to tighten up the rear decklid to help with bass noise. All I did was lose the seal and it leaked in at the rear window side of the trunk. Promptly cranked them back down and just added more dynamat. If it is pooling (after you solve the leak) get the biggest cheapest bag of coffee BEANS you can and punch a bunch of holes in it and leave it in the trunk for a few weeks. It will suck every last drop of moisture out of the car. Coffee smell will last a few days after you pull it out but all will go back to normal eventually.

Thanks! I didn't even know the battery is in the trunk. Water pooling in a battery well? That doesn't sound very safe. I'll keep that coffee trick in mind... hopefully I won't need it.

The drain tubes go down into the rear quarters, where the windows are. Sometimes after a heavy rain when I first pull out I can hear water sloshing in there but it all drains out. That was on my '12 2LT Convertible. I have never heard ANY sloshing in the Flash.

Cool, a response from someone with the same car that I have; now I know that what I'm experiencing is an exception. I'm going back to the dealership to have a window replaced next week. I'll have them check the drainage tubes and make sure nothing is clogged in there as well. Thanks!

water sloshing

On my 2014 convertible I had a sloshing water sound after the car sat in rain or after I washed the car. It sounded like what you describe, but was actually water in the passenger door, and it would slowly partially drain onto the back seat floor area. There is a seal in the door that needed to be put back in place. There is a TSB for this.

Thanks, I'll look for that. I heard about that in the '11 and '12 models, but you never know, it's not a perfect world.

I did have to have this done on my '12 2LT Ragtop.
