Yesterday I emailed that video link to GM and also Brembo to get their feedback. Brembo hasn't responded, but GM emailed back and asked me to call them. Today I spoke with a PR rep at GM, and after I told him everything he agreed that it needs to be looked into further. He then put me on hold to talk to his supervisor about it. When he came back he said he's escalating it to the next service level and that someone from that department will contact me within 2 days. Thanks for all your interest and replies so far. I'll let you know how this goes.

OK, long story short, it was the transmission pump.

TIMELINE:
FRIDAY, 3/16: Dropped the car off. I also put the above audio/video clip on an SD card and left it with them so they could listen to it as many times (and as for as many different people) as they needed to.

MONDAY, 3/19: They called and said it's probably the transmission, but their tranny specialist is backed up so it will be a few days before they could look at it.

FRIDAY, 3/23: I called for an update. The transmission guy hasn't gotten to it yet. He [I]might[I] get to it today, but probably not until Monday. Check back in a few days.

THURSDAY, 3/29: I called for an update. "It's the pump in the transmission, and your car is on the lift as we speak! He's removing the transmission right now."
"It's been almost two weeks and he's just now getting to it?"
"Yeah, I told you he's been backed up."
"So when do you expect it to be done?"
"Probably early next week."

FRIDAY, 3/30: I had to go back there to renew the paperwork on the loaner they gave me because I'd had it for more than 10 days. I asked about the progress and he said, "he's just about got the transmission out."
"Since yesterday? It's taken him 24 hours to remove the transmission?"
"Yeah."
I was even going to dignify that with an argument. I sighed, just rolled my eyes and told him to keep me posted.

SATURDAY, 3/31: It's finally finished. The first thing I did was drive it behind a shopping center so I could hear the echo off the flat building and make sure it's fixed. No squeal, so it looks like it's fixed for real this time. You'd think that if it took 9 days before they could even start the work they would have given me an appointment date to bring it back, especially since I had one of their loners tied up for that time. I'm just glad it was all covered under warranty! Just curious, does anyone have an estimate of what that repair would have cost if it wasn't under warranty?
