REPOST (I fixed the video link) squeal when I accelerate

ADMIN: sorry for the repost, but I found out that I had the video link set to private before. I've fixed that here, so please delete the old post. THANKS!

I've found a few threads on this topic, but none with an audio sample that sounds like mine. I have a 2015 Camaro SS automatic convertible with Brembo brakes. Just over 9,000 miles on the odometer.

It makes a high-pitched squeal when I accelerate from a dead stop. It begins at about 8 miles an hour and pauses while changing gears. I can only hear this at low speeds, but because the sound is not very loud, I don't know if it continues doing it at higher speeds.

I took it to the dealership, and after two days they said the sound is a normal characteristic of the brakes over time, and that it's mentioned in a bulletin, #PIC5590B (you can read the whole bulletin here, but until the end, it mostly deals with braking issues). When I got home I read the bulletin and at the end it says, "A groan type noise may be heard when stopping quickly or moving forward slowly from a complete stop." Well, I call B.S. because this sound isn't a "groan", and there's no way Brembo would have that squeal as a "characteristic" of their brakes. My warranty ends in November, so I obviously want to get this solved before then. I haven't called the dealer back yet because I'm hoping someone here might give me something to say to them besides, "I don't believe you."

This is a clip I made of the sound. Listen in the background and you'll hear what sounds like a loose belt or squeaking brakes. You can also hear the squeal pause as the car changes gears.

Have you inspected your brake pads? Perhaps there's a good chunk of debris between one of the pads and the rotors. The thing that throws me off is that it stops between gears, but sometimes sounds are weird like that. Not too long ago, i thought that something within my engine was making a metallic chirping noise, but upon further inspection I learned that one of the heatshields on the exhaust before the cats was rubbing/vibrating off of the exhaust pipe. Hope this helps to some degree. Keep us posted!

I don't think it is your brakes
when you change gears it goes away look at the clutch bearing

I'm don't think it's the brakes either. It's an automatic, so while there's no clutch, I do think it's in the tranny.
Thanks!

Yesterday I emailed that video link to GM and also Brembo to get their feedback. Brembo hasn't responded, but GM emailed back and asked me to call them. Today I spoke with a PR rep at GM, and after I told him everything he agreed that it needs to be looked into further. He then put me on hold to talk to his supervisor about it. When he came back he said he's escalating it to the next service level and that someone from that department will contact me within 2 days. Thanks for all your interest and replies so far. I'll let you know how this goes.

OK, long story short, it was the transmission pump.

TIMELINE:
FRIDAY, 3/16: Dropped the car off. I also put the above audio/video clip on an SD card and left it with them so they could listen to it as many times (and as for as many different people) as they needed to.

MONDAY, 3/19: They called and said it's probably the transmission, but their tranny specialist is backed up so it will be a few days before they could look at it.

FRIDAY, 3/23: I called for an update. The transmission guy hasn't gotten to it yet. He [I]might[I] get to it today, but probably not until Monday. Check back in a few days.

THURSDAY, 3/29: I called for an update. "It's the pump in the transmission, and your car is on the lift as we speak! He's removing the transmission right now."
"It's been almost two weeks and he's just now getting to it?"
"Yeah, I told you he's been backed up."
"So when do you expect it to be done?"
"Probably early next week."

FRIDAY, 3/30: I had to go back there to renew the paperwork on the loaner they gave me because I'd had it for more than 10 days. I asked about the progress and he said, "he's just about got the transmission out."
"Since yesterday? It's taken him 24 hours to remove the transmission?"
"Yeah."
I was even going to dignify that with an argument. I sighed, just rolled my eyes and told him to keep me posted.

SATURDAY, 3/31: It's finally finished. The first thing I did was drive it behind a shopping center so I could hear the echo off the flat building and make sure it's fixed. No squeal, so it looks like it's fixed for real this time. You'd think that if it took 9 days before they could even start the work they would have given me an appointment date to bring it back, especially since I had one of their loners tied up for that time. I'm just glad it was all covered under warranty! Just curious, does anyone have an estimate of what that repair would have cost if it wasn't under warranty?
