2013 2SSRS

Apologies in advance if this is wrong sub-forum. New to Camaro5, have learned more in the last week than I could have ever imagined. Thanks to all for that. Question: I am getting ready to buy a black 2013 2SSRS with every available option for $26k. It only has 4200 miles. Is this a good buy ? Again, new to Camaros and values.

A few grand more and you're in the ZL1 money. That's a completely different car...

I think it is a good deal. I bought a 2013 2SS/RS loaded, IOM w/black stripes and IO interior, one owner, 4100 miles earlier this year for $26.5k from a private owner.
The exact car I wanted.
ZL1 money is going to be mid 30’s and have higher mileage.

I bought my 2013 hot wheels edition for $27,500 from a private seller and it had just a hair over 5k miles on it. It was about a $100 less than the KBB book value at that time. The only thing that it doesn't have is a navigation system.

Keep in mind a car bought about a year ago and now should be 15% lower in price to be an = good deal. So if you paid 26 27k a year ago him paying about 22 23k now would be similar. I could see that for a low mi one owner of your preferred colors.

While different cars depreciate at different rates, it's a good rule of thumb to assume that a new car will lose approximately 20 percent of its value in the first year [or two] and 15 percent each year after that until, after 10 years, it's worth around 10 percent of what it originally cost.

Seems a bit high from private party but if that’s the exact car that you want then grab it. It’s only money!

First of all, welcome OP!! Glad to have you join us.

As for your question, the price is not out of line, but it is on the high side or acceptable. Looking on KBB with every option, (RS, ground effects, NPP exhaust, sunroof, etc.) the high end for the mileage you have listed is $26,258 with the low end being $22,833. See how low the person will go. My uncle just picked up a 2013 2SS/RS with 50k miles on it for $18k. Yes the one you are looking at has ridiculously low miles, but sometimes low miles isn't all it's cracked up to be. If the car put all of those on in 2013 and then sat since then you're going to need to do a little preventative maintenance to ensure the car doesn't "blow up" on you the first time you get on it, or make sure the car didn't earn those 4,200 miles 1/4 mile at a time.

You've probably stumbled on a gem of a car, just be sure to talk the seller down best that you can and be sure to get it checked out by a trusted, qualified mechanic.

I gave $18,000 for mine a couple months ago. It is a 2010, but I searched for a while to find a 2SS/RS in ABM with factory stripes and gfx. Mine had 52,000 on it. When I saw the car for sale I was willing to pay for what I wanted. That’s my .02. It’s worth what you are willing to pay, if it’s your dream car you will probably find a way to bring it home. If you don’t have to have you’ll wait till the right one comes along. It does sound like you found a really nice car though.

I still believe it is a good price. I also believe most owners with a low mileage car as such are going to be able to command a bit of a premium. You are basically getting a 2013 camaro ss new at almost half the price. But as stated above it depends on what it’s worth to you. When I found my 2013 it was the exact car I wanted, color, options, year, low mileage, etc... maybe it was a little high on price, but my chances of finding that same vehicle again in the condition and with the low mileage near where I lived was not very high so I went for it and haven’t looked back
