Better picture of rubbing

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/attach...1&d=1446407171

Again - some of marking is from OEM tire - dealer told me may have been from when car was strapped down.

I pushed some on the plastic and managed to move it away.

Seems mostly fine, but with two good sized people in car on low speed dips (not sudden bumps, rolling dip) it is still contacting a bit.

Now with top down, radio on, probably wouldn't even hear it, especially with those OEM tires which were noisy as hell.

Not sure what I am going to do . . . . absolutely love the MPSS, but don't want to put 295s on those wide rims . . . .maybe buy two front rims and go with 295s or wait for plastic to wear in . . . . doesn't seem like ther eis anything important behind it other than frame.

Do those rims have the same offset as factory?

Note: the PSS's come in two different styles, K1, and K2. The difference is the tread depth and tread width.

K1 - 7/32 tread depth, 11.5" tread width
K2 - 10/32 tread depth, 11" tread width.

I'm running the K2's on stock rims on a 2013 convertible stock height with just me in the car with no rubbing.

Yes I saw the two types - these are the k2's . . . . so according to what everyone else said they shouldn't rub . . . . and yet, see pictures above. They rub.

It's be interesting to cover the current rub marks with blue painter's tape perhaps and drive the car again just to see if there are new rub marks proving that the PSS's are rubbing and that the current rub marks were there from the OEM tires.

Funny you should mention that . . .

I used grease pencil instead.

Only went for a ride with a single rub in these pictures, will retake again next weekend for comparison but you can see the smudged lines in this picture.

Keep in mind I did adjust the fender tabs a bit because the plastic was bubbled out a but so I made some clearance vs OEM -> not apples to apples.

But made adjustment with my hands so not anything that wouldn't qualify as manufacturing tolerance - just a little pushing.

For the most part the plastic sits flat on frame but that area where it is rubbing has something under it. Not brake line, something else - need to get the shop manual to see if it can be moved.

Oh and in terms of proof . . . . I can hear it. There is rubbage.

The fact that not much grease pencil is gone, just a little smear leads me to believe, not as bad as it sounds when it hits . . . I was most worried about it hitting fender - dont want body damage.

Plastic wheel well . . . less concerned enough to experiment.

Interesting that you rub on the inside.
My rear MPSS 315s rub a bit on the outside when the car is a bit loaded.
Seems to be against the upper corner of the mud guard, or whatever you want to call it.

ordered MPSS K2 315 for the rear from Tire Rack. Was told it will be at least 3-4 MONTHS as they are on back order.
