Restorations
Anyone have a great recommendation for a shop that can do show quality work on my car. I am looking for:
1. engine/tranny pulled, painted high gloss 2. wiring hidden around fuse box nd coils 3. engine bay painted high gloss 4. undercarriage cleaned and painted 5. rearend painted Any recommendations?

For a paint I would use Dupont Imron 6000 base coat clear coat. It is very expensive. Easy to use. It is the same stuff that Catterpiller uses on their diesel engines. I painted my 73 F250 with it about 10 years ago. Never waxed it. Looks like new, still. It looks like an old lacquer job with 15 coats of clear. It will with stand the heat of the engine. All of those area's you mentioned to paint use the Dupont Imron 6000. Most of the new younger painters never heard of it. Talk to some of the older painters, they will tell you how great it is. |
