How long will you let her warm up for? or him

Im not sure with a new car how long or if you even need to let it warm up? Lets use 60 degree day and a 35 degree day?

Here ya go

"Do not over-idle when starting. Even at -18°C most cars only require 15 to 30 seconds of idling before being driven. The engine and drivetrain warm up better when your car is in motion. However, drive gently until they are warm".

Closed loop mode means that the ECU will compare the measured air/fuel ratio to the target air/fuel ratio and automatically increase or decrease fuel delivery accordingly. In open loop mode, the ECU will still use the oxygen sensor to read air/fuel ratios, but will not adjust fuel delivery as in closed loop mode.

+1
More engine wear occurs by letting the car idle vs. just driving it (but with little load).

open loop: A mode of operation in a computerized engine management system that occurs after a cold start. During open loop, the computer provides a fixed air/fuel ratio that is richer than normal to improve cold derivability until the engine warms up.

Closed loop: In closed loop operation the ECU uses one or more oxygen sensors as a feedback loop in order to adjust the fuel mixture. This gives the name ‘closed loop’ from the closed feedback loop. The ECU won’t run in a closed feedback loop all the time, so ‘open loop’ is used to describe the operation of the ECU when the mixture is not being adjusted in this way (usually when the engine is cold or when running under high load).

In closed loop operation the ECU uses the oxygen sensor to tell if the fuel mixture is rich or lean. However, due to the characteristics of the oxygen sensor it can’t tell exactly how rich or lean, it only knows that the mixture is richer or leaner than optimum. The ECU will enrich the mixture if the oxygen sensor shows that the mixture is lean, and lean the mixture if it looks rich. The result of this is that the mixture will swing back and forward around the stoichiometric point.
when you are in open loop (first starting the car or WOT) the computer disregards signal input (for the most part) from the o2 sensors and a couple others until a set of parameters are met. what this means is that when you first start the car, it runs richer than normal because it cant measure the exhaust at all until the o2 sensors are warmed up. once they warm up, or the coolant temp reaches a specific temp, or the system times out, it will go into closed loop and start taking readings from the o2 sensors in an attempt to balance the air/fuel ratio.

Same here... But I'll be making a better effort once i get the car. Even if it only takes 30 seconds and warms up better when in motion I'll take the loss on the gas to ensure it's warmed up. You never know... Mustangs like to roll up on you early in the morning, trying to catch you off guard... Fbod would be disappointed if we weren't prepared!!!

I always let the coolant temp hit 100 degrees before I move the vehicle.
