D@MZ Cross-Member
Okay, so I installed my Corsa CatBack today. Correct part for my 11 2SS Manual. Well the fitment near the cross member is so darn tight. I tried adjusting the pipes etc. then shims with washers. AND THEN even a trip to lowes for nylon spacers in conjunction with the washers... STILL a vibration against the cross member. Besides buying longer bolts and larger spacers, does anyone have suggestions?
Thanks in advance! |

Take it to an exhaust specialist and have them make the proper adjustments.

The only thing I can think of is you might have put the x-pipe piece in upside down. It only went in 1 way on my car, but i have 2012 SS.

Thanks 05mbm..... I even called Corsa directly to verify that the x-pipe was correct. the flat metal braket that connects the two was facing down as per the tech with Corsa. I even pulled it back out and tried the other way and it was apparent that it went the way it is in and not the other. I am a bit "type a"..... it sounds good as hell, but I can hear the vibration.
Horse13: I did it myself so I wouldnt have to pay a "professional". I had other installed on cars by "pros" and I had to go home and make adjustments. but thanks for the advice. This is an easy job bud, and I am not the first one with this "issue". |

I just took the damn thing off and am gonna fabricate my own. I've been running without it for a month now. Powder coater lost my part, I'll have to make it again but so far no issues without it.

Left mine in the scrap heap with the factory exhaust 2 years ago.

You guys are the best! LOL... Threw it out?! haha... I just made another run: part store, longer bolts same size, more very cool nylon spacers and a washer on each side of the nylon spacer. took it for another ride. now it sounds like it should... I was thinking I wasnt gonna be happy with it since the vibration made it MUCH LOUDER.
Thanks for all of the input, lets see how long these nylon spcers hold up. my luck they will rbeak while out, and the damn thing will rattle like crazy until I get home. But I did crank them down and it seems very good. |

Well, the inevitable. After a couple days of driving, the exhaust settled (sagged slightly) and made enough travel to come in slight contact witht the cross member and cause the vibration again... UGH... Looks like I will be getting back unger the car with another set of hands to re-align everything.
