Replace convertible rear spoiler and antenna
Ok so i replaced my convertible rear spoiler some time back.
To do this i had to remove the FM/AM antenna and controller for it. New High Wing rear spoiler :-) I thought i would be able to find a after market FM/AM antenna and use that. So when out and got a small one and was waiting to put it in. Well today i was putting in my new Technostalgia LED tail lights. And i removed the Rear Fascia to make this easy When done with the lights i thought about putting the stock FM Antenna in the Rear Fascia. And what do you know! Plenty of room for it and it works very well! Pulled out the 2 wires going to trunk lid and ran them with the Tail lights to the Rear Fascia. All the other wires are for the tail lights. I am holding the FM/AM wires. Here is where i mounted it, Red is the FM/AM Antenna parts!

BUMP!
OP can you answer the above questions? This is important for me as I am having trouble getting AM reception. Is your AM reception good? I went to a blade spoiler and this has been a real problem. Thanks, Geno

Well, I did this last weekend. Worked out pretty well. Secured the antenna, controller and wires with small zip ties. The rear bumper was surprisingly easy to take off. Just search rear fascia removal on C5 and you'll get a good video link. FM reception is excellent. AM reception is not great, but acceptable. AM reception is terrible around hear anyway. The benefit of this installation is that it gets the antenna out of the metal trunk. Other location inside the trunk will give you NO AM reception.

Hey guys, I just posted the same question. Here's a sweet spoiler that I found on Phastekperformance website. Solves a lot of the issues with the antenna

Do any of the aftermarket ones that support the antenna also support the Z/28 WICKER BILL SPOILER KIT?

Answered several times in the vert section. Unbolt the spoiler, remove the three panels on the bottom. On 2011-2013 you can slide the antennae out one of the panels on either side. On 2014-15 the antennae is too long to slide out, must be cut in half with tin snips and each half removed through the center access plate (if I remember right, it was two halves riveted together once installed). You can replace the rivets or solder halves back together. I just used one half of the antennae and it works fine.
