Might as well just total her....joking, but 1st scratch.

Well after 2 1/2 years i finally got me 1st scratch, and i am just so bummed. I dont know how it happened as i never park next to anybody, but came out from work and there it was. Already talked to the body shop and i dont want it touched up cause it will always be seen, so there going to mask off that area and paint it.

Battle scar :(

Any chance that it came from a rock or something while you were tearing up the track and just didn't catch it that day??

Hope the repair turns out good for you

Give touch up a chance. Yes, you will know it is there but maybe it will be okay enough that you can accept it. Worst case, it will set you back $10.

Is the scratch next to the paint chip?

In my experience with some effort, touchup can work there. It will take the right undercoat color and some effort, with multiple applications and probably a lot of hand polishing then a quick spray of clear and more polish. I'd have no qualms about trying before I decide to mask and paint.

maybe there's something the photo isn't showing me, but in my opinion, a careful body/paint guy- if he cared to- could fix that up easy. I think today they simply don't want to get involved in piddly repairs.

It's the big chip, scratch just sounded better for the title. I know the guy at the paint/body, he know's how anal i am about my car so we just decided to paint that little area.
