My ZL1 had 9...just got a recent company truck & it had 12.
The 78 wouldn't bother me if the deal was right. My 17 was a special order & while they offered, I Didn't even test drive her. My particular dealer states unless it's a special order, they do not allow test drives on the upper end performance vehicles, as many serious buyers prefer to follow the break in procedure. Kinda makes me wonder how far the average test drive is or how many there were when seeing 50-250 miles on brand new LT4. |

< 10 miles is brand new to me. Anything more than that and it better have a piece of paper stating the additional mileage was put on by someone at the factory for quality testing, otherwise I'm not buying it.
Mine had 3 miles on it when I took delivery |

Less than 50 on a GM. My GTR had 70 because there is an extensive break-in procedure for those cars. Even after 70 miles, I had to bring it in to have the bolts tightened.

Mine had 3. The dealership had it out front, but had to move it back to the shop because it was causing a traffic jam. People were stopping to take pictures of it throughout the day, was a big hit at the dealership.

Mine had 3. I was paranoid someone would take for a joy ride. Especially when I ordered it the way I wanted it. I was there to meet the transport truck.

They get dropped @ 6000 with 3 -4 miles. Just because of the model it gets extra PDI joy miles. Usually they are in retail with around 7 miles.

Mine had 13 I think. The car is fine at 78 but it’s been on a lot of test drives, or an employee drove it for a week or two.

Like some have said, I am really OCD. It depends what I am buying the car for. A purchase like a ZL1, I am going to be extremely picky.
That said, the ZL1 seems like a very robust car and depending on the deal I was getting , and the dealer I was buying from I would certainly consider buying one with 78 miles on it. If there was not a great deal being offered then I would just wait, as you can tell, most are delivered with less than 5 miles so I would need proper incentive to accept one with 70+ more miles. Keep in mind this is an incredible performance car, there is no way those 70+ miles don't have some hard pulls and aggressive driving mixed in.

I had 3 miles also, but the 12 and the 14 both had 14 miles on them.

I think this is a bit of a loaded question. It really depends on you and your plans for the car. Personally, I’m OCD with my cars. They’re also usually purchased and modified fairly early on. I don’t want anyone driving it but me if it’s something I’m buying and plan to keep. 78 miles is probably a whole lot of full throttle acceleration pulls by different drivers.
On the other hand... if you plan to lease or don’t keep cars for long, it’s probably not a big deal. Especially if it’s going to remain stock and warrantied. Some years back, I leased an M3 that was sitting on our lot for a while. It had over 70 miles on it. Those cars have a 1200 mile break in period, where they get the engine, transmission, and diff oils changed. No full throttle or high rpms are recommended before then. I’m sure mine got plenty of both before I got it. But it was a lease, and I got a killer deal on. So I didn’t let that stop me. |
