Question about radius rod bush inserts

Installed Pedders EP6579 inserts a few hundred miles ago and torqued to specs.Over the weekend I disconnected again to slot their mounting holes.I found a significant amount of aluminum dust on the bush faces.I am verry concerned . Any thoughts?

Did you re-clock/re-index/time the radius rod bushing when you installed the inserts? By this I mean were the wheels on the ground (not jacked up) when you torqued the radius rod? If you torqued the bolts with the car jacked up and suspension hanging, that could be the problem. When you lowered the car it would create a tension in the bushing. It could be this tension causing the center aluminum piece of the bushing to wear. I would clean the dust up, time the bushings properly and check it for more dust. Here is a link about timing bushings.

I am not shure if I timed them or not. Will this time. Do the faces require lube, none in the kit.Looks like now the bush faces are longer than the OEM aluminum ferrel. Could that be the problem?

I would contact Pete (JusticePete) from Pedders, he'll set you straight on whether this is an issue or not.

Please post afterwards as I have the same kit freshly installed and would like to know what to expect in the future.
