Question 2019 model front license plate position

Forgive me if this has been discussed already but I don't see anything.

Has anyone seen where front license plate brackets are supposed to go? I can easily imagine one in the lower grill of the SS. But other models will have a harder time fitting something there.

It's already bad enough that holes get drilled into the subtle black part of the 2016-2018 front bumper. It's looking like things are going to be even worse for the 2019+.

I'm thinking lower grille for the SS. Other models, probably a bracket in the middle silver bumper area

I think the new SS bumper will actually look much better with a front plate in the middle

LMAO this may end up being a disaster.

I'm willing to bet there will be holes drilled into the painted bumper of the non-SS models. SMH

Almost guarantee it. That's how it was on my 5th gen. I removed it and put some bumper plugs in the holes. It looked okay. It was one of the reasons why I wanted my Camaro new, I wouldn't have damn holes in my bumper!

Cars sold in states that require front plates must have a plate bracket supplied with the car...Some dealers take it upon themselves to install the bracket asap to throw on their dealership advertising...and this is often not what the customer wants done...I've never seen a license plate in any ad or story about the car...

...And as much as they talk about all the engineering involved in the front for cooling, ducting, air-flow, etc., a license plate is never mentioned. Nor is a plate in front ever integrated as part of the "styling".

Oh well...the lucky ones are those that don't have to have a front plate....

I bought my SS brand new here in Cali and the license bracket was in the trunk when I bought it. I'm pretty sure that was a mistake, but I was happy about it.

I do have the front plate on now but it's ziptied in place because I'm not drilling holes in my bumper. I'm still thinking about taking it off anyway.

I really wanted to see a plate mounted in the front. Not that it would change the look of the front emblem design but being lower in the grille area possible would take some eyes off of it as a distraction... LOL When i picked up my 16' back in December of 2015, it was the only one in the area that had everything i wanted in it and on the lot. The front plate braket was already mounted on so i had not much of a choice where the plate would go.

Have you thought about the sto'n'sho mount? I have it and it's great, unobtrusive, zero impact (as it reuses 2 bumper mounting bolts) and easy to take off and on.

I got the Sto'N'Sho bracket for mine (mine has the front splitter as well). I would highly recommend using that.

As for where Chevy intended for it to go...no clue, bud.

I've been thinking about getting a splitter for mine, did you have to get a different Sto-n-Sho?

Oh dude, get the Sto'N'Sho. Better than zip ties. I also live in CA and when I special ordered my car, I told them right away to leave that dang bracket in the trunk. They agreed and I had no issues.

I am probably going to jinx myself here...but I haven't had the front plate on even once since I got the car. All cops have left me alone so far...but if ever needed, I could clip it on in just a few seconds. Here's a short vid on it.

When I got mine, they had a seperate one that was meant for front splitters. More recently, I have had people tell me the same model works for both.
