First - thank you, Mr. Greg Heinrich - our Chevrolet Dealer at Fairway Chevrolet (Las Vegas) Henderson Chevrolet (Henderson NV) and Pahrump Valley Auto Center (Pahrump, NV) - for his continued generosity to the Community at large in Nevada -- he's a true gentleman - has served on the Camaro/Corvette Dealer Advisory Board - and the National Dealer council -- he's also a personal friend.

Second - Thank you, Mr. Hendrick for your continued generosity and support to so many charities-- and also for preserving so many pieces of GM History. (his collection is simply beyond incredible)

The car you saw on the stage is, indeed, the car that was unveiled in Chicago - and it was painted specifically for this event. Thus, the red under the hood - there will be changes to the production model.

All in all - a great evening at Barrett-Jackson!

When I was at the dealer trying to order a ZL1 yesterday, I noticed a lot of 2012s with the Hertiage grille. It seems you can have the grille as an option. So....does anyone else think it was odd that the ZL1 they auctioned had a stock grille?

#69 was supposed to pay hommage to the 1969 ZL1 where 69 were made, so the Hertiage grille would have been perfect.

The only reason someone would spend that type of money for that is for its collectability. It probably won't even see 5k miles in its life.

It is a write off, because the money he paid to the charity is considered a donation to the charity, there making it a tax write off.................

The car on the block isn't the car that Hendrick is getting. The car on the block was a red ZL1 painted CFM so there was something to show what it will look like. The car hasn't been built yet, so if there are any options available he should still be able to order them along with the rest of us.

while I'm not a tax attorney, I don't believe one can write off all of the $250,000 - simply because there is something tangible in return for the $250,000.......

Doesn't quite work that way. All proceeds go to charity, yes. But Mr. Hendricks still has to follow the IRS 'qiud pro quo' rules. (You cannot deduct the entire amount of a donation when you get something in return.)
