13' ZL1 vert spoiler swap for a 14' ZL1 vert spoiler

Hi, I am a newbie here on C5. I looked back through all the past threads and didn't notice anyone asking this question: I own a 13' ZL1 Vert and like most, was disappointed to find out that the spoiler is not the same as the coupe. I noticed the 14' ZL1 vert uses the larger coupe spoiler and was wondering if anyone switched theirs. I was thinking about purchasing the one from Phastek called Z/TA trans am spoiler when I noticed that the 14's come with the larger spoiler! it got me wondering...should I go with a factory set up or go with aftermarket? Has anyone else done this?

Thanks in advance!

I just went and looked at maybe 100 pictures on the web comparing the 2 stock rear spoilers,I like the stock 13 on my 13 better, the 14 is a little too curved IMOP,but those were pictures, and I know I past on the 2014 2 months ago when i purchased my 2013 ZL1 vert because I was one of those that hate the rear tail lights,etc..
I know this much I do like the rear spoiler on the 2014 coupe, and might be up for seeing how that looks on it..
good luck

trunk lid is different. and ive been told the 14 lid wont fit the 13, so no go with the spoiler unless u swap the entire rear end to a 14

Might be a silly question but why not just add the 12-13 coupe spoiler? Tons of people add them to their non ZL1s so they are pretty easy to find. I think there are even a few aftermarket copies or just buy the OEM part.

I think the verts have an antenna embedded in the spoiler, and the coupes do not. So, if you swap, you have to either fix an antenna issue, or have poor reception, for radio, I think.

I believe the antenna for the vert is located in the spoiler. That will be something to consider.

Check with forum vendor Eric-MPD1.com
He is working on one but it was not available as of my last correspondence in August. It may be ready now. I had one on my 2010 SS and am looking forward to getting one for my ZL1 vert. Search MPD1 spoilers for a look at what is available for the coupe. Also, I think he was in the process of relocating, so that might have slowed the development some.

I must have inquired at the beginning of August. Here is his post from his marketplace thread at the end of August. Guess I need to dust off my check book.

Why did this get moved to Cosmetics and Lighting? It was a ZL1 question, in a ZL1 section, with all posts by ZL1 owners. Mods seem a little over zealous with the moves these days.
